Director says Kingdom Hearts 3 and FFVII Remake still have a way to go
and no one is surprised
Fans have been clamoring for updates from Square Enix regarding the releases of Kingdom Hearts 3 and FFVII Remake particularly since their disappointing absence from E3 2016. Well we finally have some news but unfortunately it is still pretty inconsequential.

In a recent interview with Famitsu (translated by Gematsu), the director of KH3 and FFVII, Tetsuya Nomura, discussed the development of the two projects. When asked about Kingdom Hearts 3, Nomura stated, “in terms of the state of development, there is still some way to go”. Production is ongoing for unannounced worlds and there are apparently there are still worlds the development team hasn’t even started on.

When asked about FFVII Remake, Nomura said that production progress is steady but “the wait will be a little longer”. While he is sorry, Nomura says he “will make a game that will meet your expectations”. Nomura also acknowledged the lack of information released last year about the two projects. And though the “releases of the titles themselves still have a way to go”, Nomura wants “to show [their] progress at an event somewhere”. So there is some hope that we will get some more substantial news about Kingdom Hearts 3 or Final Fantasy VII Remake later this year. I know I’ll be on the lookout for it.
